American Idol’s Devyn Rush – New EP Release

Vortex Music is proud to announce, Devyn Rush, former American Idol Contestant and National Spokesperson for Hey U.G.L.Y. (Unique, Gifted, Lovable, You), shares her new release “Run Away” to benefit Hey U.G.L.Y., an anti-bullying organization for teens around the globe. Surprise Placement – Tyra Banks “Life-Size”

Vortex Music has received some welcomed news! One of their songs, “You’re All That”, was placed in Disney’s made-for-T.V.  film “Life-Size”, starring Tyra Banks and Lindsay Lohan.  It had its debut on ABC-TV in 2000. Additional good news, 14 years later, the beloved made-for-T.V. movie is getting a modern update.  Is another surprise placement in the works? Stay tuned. The sequel is due out sometime in 2014. The song was produced by the very talented Steve Skinner and co-written by Jimmy Santis, Nina Ossoff and Steve Skinner.

Walt Disney – Santa Buddies – “Sunday Morning

Vortex Music is proud to announce that their song, “Sunday Morning,” which was placed in the Walt Disney film, Santa Buddies, continues to enjoy great success overseas. Current distribution list for the film includes the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Mexico and Japan. The song was written by Hugh Colocott and the very talented Amber Rhodes, who is also singing the track.

BRAVO T.V. SERIES – “FLIPPING OUT”

Vortex Music is pleased to announce their song, “Click, Click, Click”, was placed in Bravo T.V. Series, Flipping Out.  Flipping Out, is a reality T.V. show based in Los Angeles, California starring Jeff Lewis, a peculiar home designer who buys homes, renovates them and “flips them” for a  profit. The show is broadcast in the U.S. and Canada and is now in it’s 7th season. “Click, Click, Click” was written with Janice Fitzgerald and is performed by Jimmy Santis.

Placement in Nashville – Hit ABC TV Series

Vortex Music is proud to announce their song, “None Of The Above”, was placed in ABC’s hit T.V. show, Nashville,  an American musical drama television series. Nashville, now in it’s second season, was nominated for Favorite New TV Drama at the 39th People’s Choice Awards and Best New Series at the 65th Writers Guild of America Awards. “None Of The Above” was written by Hugh Colocott and long time friend and collaborator of Vortex Music, David Kraut. MTV New Reality Show – “Big Tips Texas”

Vortex Music had their song, “Bang, Bang, Bang”, placed in MTV’s new reality show, “Big Tips Texas”. Following 9 hot babes working at a local bar, wearing skimpy tops, short shorts,  lots of drama and cat-fighting, MTV exec’s think this show will be their new “New Jersey Shore”. Here is an excerpt from MTV’s press release: “Big Tips Texas documents the lives of a group of fun-loving girlfriends serving up southern hospitality at a popular Texas watering hole while hoping to make their dreams a reality. Big Tips Texas premiered Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and will include 14 half-hour episodes. Giddy up!” The song was written by Vortex Music along with their very talented friend and co-writer Larry May.

Song Placement in “The Young and the Restless”

Vortex Music is happy to announce their very first song collaboration, “How Long”, was recently used in the day time soap opera, “The Young and the Restless”. “Y&R”, as it is commonly known, is one of the longest running soaps dating back to March of 1973. Since its inception, the show has won seven Daytime Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Drama Series”. 

Song Placement in Indie Film “Odd Brodsky”

Vortex Music is happy to announce their song “Fantastic” has been placed in a new Indie Film, “Odd Brodsky”, that is opening at the Mill Valley Film Festival October 4th, 2013. The movie was directed by Cindy Baer, an acclaimed director, producer and actress, whose debut feature Purgatory House,  screened at 25 festivals, won 12 awards and appeared on five critic’s lists for “Best film of the Year”. “Fantastic” is featured twice in the film most notably during the end credits.
