Brittany Underwood – Hollywood Heights – New EP Release

Brittany Underwood, who is well known for her starring role in the TeenNick/Nickelodeon series Hollywood Heights, has just released her new self titled EP, Brittany Underwood. Vortex Music collaborated on two songs for the EP, “California Wild” and “Love Me Now Or Let Me Go.” Andrew Boss and John Sarris, the production team known as KAMA, produced and co-wrote the songs along with Brittany Underwood and Alana Raye.

Vortex Music is happy to announce their song, “None Of The Above”, was recently placed in USA Networks hit T.V. show, Shooter,  an American television drama series now in it’s second season.  “None Of The Above” was written by Hugh Colocott and long time friend and collaborator of Vortex Music, David Kraut.  The song was performed by Hugh Colocott and has previously been placed on ABC’s hit T.V. show Nashville. “Big Red Neon Love” – InStore Broadcasting Network

Vortex Music is proud to announce that their song “Big Red Neon Love” has been licensed by the InStore Broadcasting Network which pipes music into stores such as Walgreens, K-Mart and Safeway nationwide. It was written by Hugh Colocott and Janice Fitzgerald and performed by the very talented Amanda Droste, a.k.a. Mandy D. The song is available on the “Rock in the Vortex” album on iTunes.

Party of Five – DVD Box Set

Vortex Music’s song “Lost in Translation” has been licensed to Columbia Pictures Television for teen drama Party Of Five for a newly released DVD box set. The show first aired on FOX and launched the careers of cast members Jennifer Love Hewitt, Neve Campbell and Matthew Fox.

The song was co-written with Janice Fitzgerald and performed by Amber Rhodes.

Walt Disney – Santa Buddies – “Sunday Morning”

Vortex Music is proud to announce that their song, “Sunday Morning,” which was placed in the Walt Disney film, Santa Buddies, has been enjoying great success overseas. Current distribution list for the film includes the United Kingdom, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Japan.

The song was written by Hugh Colocott and Amber Rhodes, who also is the performer on the track.

CW’s Gossip Girl – “Brand New Eyes”

Vortex Music’s song “Brand New Eyes” is the gift that keeps on giving. This is now the fourth time the song has been placed, this time with CW’s teen drama Gossip Girl.

Screen Gems Movie Promo Placement

Vortex Music is proud to announce that their song, “Brand New Eyes,” was used in a movie promo for Screen Gems film, THE VOW, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. The film debuted at #1 on its opening weekend and has received nominations for an MTV Movie Award 2012 and Teen Choice Awards.

This is the third placement for the song thus far, having been recorded by Ellie Jacobs of New Atlantic Records and The Franklin Girls (Indie Label).

“Brand New Eyes” was co-written with Gail Vareilles of Sandshifter Music.

Vortex Music’s First TV Placement for “Do You Dare”

Hollywood Heights – Nick@Nite TV Placement

Vortex Music has another song placement on the way on Nickelodeon’s new sizzling teen television drama, Hollywood Heights. “Bang, Bang, Bang” will air on Thursday, July 12th, at 9pm and 11pm. Upcoming guest appearances on the show will feature Academy Award nominee James Franco, from the film 127 Hours.

The song was co-written with Larry May and sung by the very talented Jacqui Sandell.

Second TV Placement: The Unsaid

Looks like Vortex Music’s song “The Unsaid” is becoming a favorite for music supervisors. It was recently placed on National Geographic Channel’s show, Alaska Wing Men.
